There are many ways that we can recognize God's presence and working in our lives and receive the hope that comes from it.  Join us as we explore the Source of our hope and the Anchor of our soul, using movement, music, Scripture, guided reflection, and journaling.  Turn your cares over to the Lord, increase your trust, and leave refreshed, inspired and hopeful.  Basic everyday movements will be taught which can be done by anyone, regardless of age, experience or physical limitation.  Opportunity for optional attendance at Mass will be offered.

Friday night - Sunday morning

Weber Retreat Center, Adrian, MI

St. Francis of Assisi Women's Retreat Weekend ~ The Martha - Mary Balance of Life

The story of Martha and Mary is not a story about the supremacy of a life of prayer over a life of action.  It is an invitation to move from being distracted to being attentive in our prayer as well as in our action.  When we busy ourselves with many other things, we have come off-center.  Jesus was inviting Martha to reconsider why she was doing what she was doing and to realign.

A retreat is a time away from our normal activities so that we might spend time getting reacquainted with God, examine our priorities in life and to make concrete and practical resolutions for improvement - usually spiritual, but could really be anything.  Retreats can be a powerful step toward personal conversion.

So come enjoy some quiet prayer time in order to listen to God.  Get away for the weekend!  Grow closer to the Lord!  Moms and older daughters, sisters, friends -- all are welcome to attend.

Our director, Janene Ternes, will use the story of Martha and Mary to lead us on an interior journey.  There will be time for prayer, table talk, and large group discussion.  You will also have time to relax, walk the grounds, and socialize.  We will celebrate Sunday Mass.

Single room cost is $225; double room (shared with someone) is $175 per person. There will be four conference talks, time for individual prayer and relaxation, Saturday night Mass with St. Francis pastor Fr. James Conlon, and your meals.  Arrive Friday late afternoon/early evening for dinner from 5:00 - 6:00 pm and first talk at 7:00 pm.  Concludes Sunday after lunch.

Weber Retreat Center is located at 1257 East Siena Heights Dr., Adrian, MI, 49221.  Register at www.stfrancisa2.com     For more information, contact Marty Lucas at 734-821-2125.

Day Retreat ~ The Martha - Mary Balance of Life

The Martha and Mary story in Luke 10:38-42 illustrates the tension we often face between attending to God, as well as the worldly things that still must be accomplished.  Join us as we utilize many forms of prayer, including guided reflection, journaling, music and movement prayer to clarify God’s unique plan for your own balance between prayer and service.  When we focus on doing those things to which God truly calls us, rather than everything, life becomes more peaceful and meaningful.  Basic every day movements will be taught which can be done by anyone, regardless of age, experience or physical limitation.
